Gift Bags And A Gift Bag
May 25, 2023
The Spark
Sally wanted a pencil bag for her backpack, then went on to make gifts, and a gift bag for Mother's Day
The Things
Supplies/Materials
- Cotton fabric pieces, less than 1/4 yard each
- Fusible interfacing
- Zippers
- Thread
Tools Used
- Cutting Table & Mat
- Rotary Cutter
- Iron & Ironing Board
- Brother sewing machine
The Process
Step 1
Gather Patterns or Instructions and Materials

I had several offcuts and scraps in my stash, so it was time to use them. I had a general idea of what I wanted to make, but needed some inspiration and guidance.
Beginning with a pencil case, the search continued for other small, useful containers. Here are the ones I used:
Pencil Case
Cosmeticts Bag
Tea Bag Holder
Travel Tissue Holder
Gift Bag
Step 2
Following The Instructions

Following the instructions for each type of bag, cut out the fabric and fusible interfacing. The large cutting table with self-healing cutting mat is very handy for cutting out these shapes.
Be sure to follow the steps as described for each project.
Step 3
Pat Yourself on the Back

After completing your items, set them all together and admire your work. Take a picture!
Then pack them all in the gift bag and give them to somone who will love them.
