The dust collector is connected to the Miter Saw, Bandsaw, and Tablesaw and will activate automatically when any of those machines is turned on. There is a hose that can be connected to the planer or used on the benchtop when sanding, etc. To use it remove the plug and connect the hose to whatever you plan to use (for example, the planer), then turn the collector on with the manual override switch. Remember to re-install the plug when you are done.
